Four future trends within recruitment
The recruitment industry has looked the same for a long time and the process of finding candidates is often expensive or time consuming. There are some development opportunities, to say the least, and we are foreseeing a change within the industry. But what are the four trends that we are seeing in the near future?
- More remote hiring. The pandemic has paved the way for remote work and its impact will linger on even after it’s over. Calling in interesting candidates to come in for an interview will be an exception rather than the norm. With the digital tools that are available, having interviews and contract signings will be the new normal.
- Automated Recruitments. The hiring process will not only happen remote, some parts will be automated. Shortlisting candidates can take up to 23 h of work for one hire and by automating this part, you can cut down hiring costs and streamline the recruitment process.
- Transparency. What’s the salary they can expect? What does the timeline of the recruitment look like? How do you ensure fair hiring processes? These are just a few of many questions that recruiters should communicate to the applicants in order to build transparency.
- Gamification. Sourcing candidates with the help of gamification can be an effective method for evaluating the applicants before inviting them for an interview. In 2004, Google invited people to solve a series of equations thinking in a way of pre-screening candidates which turned out to be successful.
