What does the perfect CV look like?
There are several opportunities within the job market, especially in the field of IT. There is a demand within the area of IT but the competition has also thickened due to the possibility to work remotely. Now, candidates that are located in other cities and countries, are of interest for roles.
As a recruiter, you receive many applications with long cover and personal letters and it is of essence to keep these documents up to date in order for you to have a chance at the first step. The cover letter is the absolute first impressions recruiters will get from you and there is only a short amount of time to catch their interest. Here are some other tips and tricks that will increase your chances to come to an interview:
- Keep it simple. Aim to have a one-pager and avoid long texts that are time consuming to go through.
- Explain. Always write down a short description of your listed experience. E.g ”My role/responsibilities was following…”
- Tools and technologies. Make sure to include which tools and technologies you have used in your role or in the project.
- Skills. Emphasize the skills you have in common with the job description. Are there any other skills that you think will contribute to the role - include them!
